Recognise the 'Cancer Rollercoaster'.

There will be times you cope really well. There will be other times when you find yourself battling with negative thoughts and depression. That's okay. It's normal. You can do it! You're a survivor!

Here ae three tips that will help you to deal with this rollercoaster ride:

  • Allow people to express their love for you. Allow them to spoil you. Don't allow them to pity you! Don't accept any messages of gloom! You are a survivor!

  • Remember that everybody is different. Because ninety-nine people in a hundred react in a certain way, this does not mean you will. There has to be that 'hundredth person' and it might as well be you!

  • Try to understand your disease. Seek to understand your planned treatment. What is it supposed to do? How will your body react? How can you help it to work? Knowledge is power.
